Promoting your Internet work-from-home website

First of all, thanks to all who “dugg” my previous article The importance of Ethics in Internet marketing and Direct Sales companies. Wow-77 diggs! This week’s post may help those who have just started an Internet marketing affiliate program, Christian home based business online, network marketing online business, affiliate online program -or are simply interested in learning more about Search engine optimization for dummies.

Step One :find affiliate products

Internet marketing affiliate program saves time and stress

I was your A-typical Search engine optimization dummy 7 months ago until I discovered an Aussie I.M program where I learned some basics and then progressed to a really user-friendly Kiwi Internet marketing affiliate program called AFFILOBLUEPRINT (you can start on the free Affilorama version if you like), and started putting together the different pieces of the jigsaw together that make for a successful internet work from home business.  The first thing you need to do is find out which affiliate products you want to market.  This can be overwhelming when you consider what’s out there.  So what I would suggest is go to one main Affiliate company-let’s go for the online digital and electronics products retailer Clickbank.  Here you can paddle and learn to swim! It’s  risk-free, zero cost, has a great chance to make your first money online, and doesn’t require any technical knowledge or experience. After signing up with Clickbank, you will be given a Clickbank “nickname” or affiliate I.D.  Keep this safe as it is used to track your sales.  Then look for a product in the Marketplace section of the Affiliate site.  For example you may find a product like “satellitedorect.tv“-you can create what’s called a “Hoplink” which when you post it in to you blog becomes a clickable link like this:Click Here!. You could place that link at the end of emails or within your new site which you are going to develop-and any time someone decides they like this product and click on it , you will be paid a commission.  Sound easy?  Well, it is.  The hard part is attracting people to your site.

Step 2 :get keywords

So we’re going to use ClickBank for our product, then you need to go to a free keyword tool like Google external keyword tooland look for some generic keywords to go with this product e.g “satellite” or “online TV”.
* Click the Get Keyword Ideas button.
* Go over to the Match Type drop down box and select Phrase Match.
* Sort the list in descending order of global search volume by clicking on the column Title.
* Make a list of any keyword that is between 10000 and 30000 global monthly searches, and that has something to do with your product.

Step 3 :find out your SEO competition.

The next step is to find out your SEO competition. Why? Because you want to establish that your site will actually rank in Google for keywords that would drive traffic to the product you’re going to market.

Here a program like Market Samurai really is invaluable. See this post from my Diary of Wealth Creation. Basically you want to find a keyword that has HIGH Search value and LOW competition. Market Samurai will help you to do that. Feed in the initial keyword you whittled down using the Google External keyword tool. Make sure the SEOC (“search engine optimization competition”) is less than 100 000. If you can’t afford to purchase a keyword tool like Market Samurai, type in the keyword you found in in quotes. For example, if the keyword phrase was “online TV” you’d type “online TV” into Google. You’ll see the search results and the words “Results 1-10 of about xx,xxx” on the right hand side. If the xx,xxx number is less than 100,000, you have a keyword you may be able to use. Otherwise, discard this keyword and find another.

Step 4: Get domain and hosting for your website

The next step is to go to a domains company like GoDaddy to buy a domain name (or you could start off with a free website like BlogSpot or a Social Media site like Squidoo (but note: many free websites have shoddy hosting!). Hosting is basically the people who give you tech help if something goes wrong and host your domain on their server. You need to get a good company to host your site, because not all hosting companies are good, or reply to your Help requests in a timely manner. I recommend Hostgator (and you can click on the image to find out how to sign up) ,also recommended by the YOTA forum; and also there’s Mochahost, who are also very good.

When you select your DOMAIN NAME it is highly advisable that you put your keyword phrase in to the URL. If you are a bit hazy on what a “url” is, or don’t know what I mean, fear not. I will write further posts on this and in the meantime you may re-read the post I gave a link for here

Step 5: do Search Engine Optimization on your website (get trained first)

Lastly you need to employ search engine optimization to get traffic. If you’re totally new to all this I would definitely join the “AFFILORAMA” (click on the image below) so that experts can guide you until you can walk by yourself. Believe me, you will need the help if you are a newbie like me! Best of all it’s free!

I hope you found this post useful-if so, be sure to bookmark it or subscribe to the Site feed above. Have a great day!
