Hemorrhoids and Chinese herbal remedies

I used to suffer from a chronic external hemorrhoid problem and was getting nowhere fast in finding a cure. As related in External hemorrhoids and bleeding hemorrhoids. I progressed from the conventional approach, which involved creams etc and examination by a proctologist to being forced to examine natural healing remedies and alternative cures.

The Natural Healing Remedy came in Stages

The answer came in different stages. The first stage was being introduced to the Chinese herbal remedies; I then went on to implement mainly external remedies such as learning benefits of using alum crystals for hemorrhoids together with using the Chinese herbal product Fargelin.

I then made friends with another Chinese lady (not a dyed-in-the-wool practitioner of Chinese medicine but actually a Singaporean Christian who had learned of the benefits of particular detox program whilst in Singapore).  The program that was not a “Chinese remedy” per se, but certainly in the category of Natural healing remedies.  I learned more from this friend about the importance of dietary changes and about a Natural detoxification program similar to this one, from which I really derived the greatest benefit. A more thorough description of this will in due course be covered at Natural Detox tips.

So I will say at the outset that I do not attribute my hemorrhoids “cure” and subsequent health progress solely to Chinese herbal remedies, nor to any specific group or natural healing practitioner, but to God. As I say elsewhere on this site, it is my belief God ultimately is the Source of all healing. But I do believe God has placed different reservoirs of wisdom in different sections of humanity, and the Chinese are a large constituent of that!

It was a good Christian friend, herself a nurse, who originally suggested I try a Chinese herbal cure, and she even told me of a suitable Chinese practice to visit . I made an appointment and was greeted by a lady with wizened features, a tad shy of 90,whose English was almost as laughable as my Chinese. After much amusing sign language, she concluded it had to do with hemorrhoids and she called in a younger female doctor, who could speak English, and was able to relay to me what was best practice (Chinese-style) for my condition.

I was told to stick my tongue out and I was given a snappy, remarkably accurate diagnosis just from this! I was then given a succinct summary of their findings by the one who could speak English and they majored on the subject of diet-not so much losing weight, as being cautious as to what I ate. Then I was given this pearl of wisdom: “Before you build a house, you need to clean it “. I got the gist: I had been subjecting my body (the “house”) to piles of unhealthy, even toxic ,food. As a salesman I would often get fast food and I remember I even used to fry rice and mix it with anchovies before going on long sales trips!

Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of China

Chinese Medicine is 1000’s of Years Old

Chinese herbs have been the basis for “Traditional Chinese Medicine”, or TCM, for over 5,000 years. This knowledge of the healing power of certain Chinese herbs and remedies has been transmitted down through the generations, but because of China’s isolation historically, not much of this has percolated through to the West.

Since Richard Nixon’s rapprochement with the Chinese in the early 70’s, and the opening up of China, knowledge of Chinese medicinal herbs and natural healing remedies has slowly but surely spread through western countries, and are now increasingly popular and in demand. Health-conscious consumers are more and more interested in avoiding products and foods with synthetic chemicals and toxins. But this is not to say one can assume any or ALL Chinese remedies are safe and toxin-free. My Singaporean friend warned me to only buy products in properly-sealed packaging, and whose manufacturers and/or importers were reliable and had proper testing standards.

Most side effects arising from the use of Chinese medicine are caused by their improper use e.g taking improper herbs, herbs with improper combination, excessive use, long-term use, wrong dosage, fake goods and contaminated herbs. The best way to avoid potential problems is to get your treatment and consultation from a qualified Chinese herbalist. Often they will take into account the current medication you are taking and be able to assess your condition with a good knowledge of the products they are dispensing. One should not take Chinese herbs for extended periods-some of the “inferior herbs” are toxic. So please read the labels and note our Disclaimer as we are merely providing information based on our own research and limited experience. Chinese medicinal herbs are a vast field of study and the Chinese can be rightly proud of their efforts to record the experience and knowledge of the herbs for the benefit of posterity.

Dealing with rejection in Sales

Rejection and Sales Objections

Rejection is one of the most painful things human beings can experience. Particularly if you suffer it at the hands of a loved one. But it can also be a significant barrier to achieving success in Sales.

By the use of our words we can either kill what someone is trying to do or we can empower what someone is trying to do.

This week in “Diary of Wealth Creation in a Depression” let “Covenantguy” relate some of his episodes of rejection in sales, and be encouraged as you learn you can say confidently to yourself, provided you have done your part of course, the following statement which you will NEVER hear from the lips of your Sales Manager.

Here it is: “The Customer is always wrong”! To read more go to Dealing-with-rejection-in-sales-1

Have a great day!

Internet Work from Home-promoting your website(2)

Indexing your website

johnreason.com-promoting your website(2)

In our last post Internet Work from Home-Promoting your website(1) we looked at 5 basic steps you need to take.  These were

Step 1 :find affiliate products
Step 2 :get keywords
Step 3 :find out your SEO competition.
Step 4: Get domain and hosting for your website
Step 5: do Search Engine Optimization on your website (get trained first)

The training is very important.  I have found, whether it was my Christian home based business, or internet marketing affiliate business or my work in Direct Sales companies I have gone furthest when I had good training and good trainers.

Now you should have your domain registered, have done your initial keyword research and got your hosting sorted out.

Step 6: Make sure your URL is indexed successfully.

Indexing means that the Major Search Engines can find you, which is obviously very important.  You should follow a series of basic checks to make sure that there a minimum of errors on your site.  You may not be able to see any errors, but the “spiders” which traverse your site periodically will read the code in the background and will not like lots of errors-it will lead to low ranking for your site and make you practically invisible to the people who you want to find you online.

This is another reason it behoves you to join a good affiliate online program to guide you step by step as you set up your site.  When you’ve ironed out the creases, as best as you are able, them you can submit your domain name or url to the “Big 3″ site engines-just click on the link or image links below if you are ready to do that (the url will be something like this: http://mydomainname.com):

johnreason.com:Promoting your website (2)Promoting your website (2) in johnreason.com:indexing your url

Tips to getting your site indexed more quickly

  1. Put a Sitemap in
Make sure your sub pages are easily accessible by search engine bots. Create a sitemap page that links to all pages of your website and place a link to it from the homepage. If you have a large website, break the site map up in several parts and keep the total link number under 100 per page. Link from your homepage to deep pages to get them and the sites around them crawled faster.  If using Wordpress they have a Sitemaps plugin, which is handy in this Web positioning process .
  2. No session IDs
Get rid of session IDs. Bots rarely index pages with a session IDs because they think that those are different pages (because of the different IDs) with the same content.
  3. Avoid variables in the URLs
Avoid variables in the URL. They are indexed slowly and often getting no PageRank. Use Apache’s mod_rewrite feature to convert your dynamic pages to static. Redirect all old pages to the new ones with a 301 redirect. Note however that if you do that for your established website, search engines will need some time to crawl the new static pages.
  4. Get links. Inbound (incoming) links are half of the SEO battle nowadays. Your website needs links from quality, on topic  websites.      The higher your PageRank the faster and deeper your website will be crawled by bots. Get links not only to your home page, but also to the deep pages. Make sure the spiders can find your site from different places

Now that you have that all set up hopefully we are ready to put ADVERTS in and make some money. I expect,if you are like me, you are still grappling with some of the terms I used in this post and are beginning to see the light but need a Search Engine optimization for Dummies course to help you get started. Or you need a refresher. Look no further. Click on th link below. There is no risk to the Year of the Affiliate course-it comes with a money-back guarantee, and if you are paying from the U.K you’ll be quids in with the conversion rate, and even U.S dollars have still not slid below the Aussie dollar-so dive in now and click on the image below!

Internet work from home:promoting your website (1)

Promoting your Internet work-from-home website

First of all, thanks to all who “dugg” my previous article The importance of Ethics in Internet marketing and Direct Sales companies. Wow-77 diggs! This week’s post may help those who have just started an Internet marketing affiliate program, Christian home based business online, network marketing online business, affiliate online program -or are simply interested in learning more about Search engine optimization for dummies.

Step One :find affiliate products

Internet marketing affiliate program saves time and stress

I was your A-typical Search engine optimization dummy 7 months ago until I discovered Sean Rasmussen’s “Year of the Affiliate Internet marketing affiliate program, and started putting together the different pieces of the jigsaw together that make for a successful internet work from home business.  The first thing you need to do is find out which affiliate products you want to market.  This can be overwhelming when you consider what’s out there.  So what I would suggest is go to one main Affiliate company-let’s go for the online digital and electronics products retailer Clickbank.  Here you can paddle and learn to swim! It’s  risk-free, zero cost, has a great chance to make your first money online, and doesn’t require any technical knowledge or experience. After signing up with Clickbank, you will be given a Clickbank “nickname” or affiliate I.D.  Keep this safe as it is used to track your sales.  Then look for a product in the Marketplace section of the Affiliate site.  For example you may find a product like “satellitedorect.tv“-you can create what’s called a “Hoplink” which when you post it in to you blog becomes a clickable link like this:Click Here!. You could place that link at the end of emails or within your new site which you are going to develop-and any time someone decides they like this product and click on it , you will be paid a commission.  Sound easy?  Well, it is.  The hard part is attracting people to your site.

Step 2 :get keywords

So we’re going to use ClickBank for our product, then you need to go to a free keyword tool like Google external keyword tooland look for some generic keywords to go with this product e.g “satellite” or “online TV”.
* Click the Get Keyword Ideas button.
* Go over to the Match Type drop down box and select Phrase Match.
* Sort the list in descending order of global search volume by clicking on the column Title.
* Make a list of any keyword that is between 10000 and 30000 global monthly searches, and that has something to do with your product.

Step 3 :find out your SEO competition.

The next step is to find out your SEO competition. Why? Because you want to establish that your site will actually rank in Google for keywords that would drive traffic to the product you’re going to market.

Here a program like Market Samurai really is invaluable. See this post from my Diary of Wealth Creation. Basically you want to find a keyword that has HIGH Search value and LOW competition. Market Samurai will help you to do that. Feed in the initial keyword you whittled down using the Google External keyword tool. Make sure the SEOC (“search engine optimization competition”) is less than 100 000. If you can’t afford to purchase a keyword tool like Market Samurai, type in the keyword you found in in quotes. For example, if the keyword phrase was “online TV” you’d type “online TV” into Google. You’ll see the search results and the words “Results 1-10 of about xx,xxx” on the right hand side. If the xx,xxx number is less than 100,000, you have a keyword you may be able to use. Otherwise, discard this keyword and find another.

Step 4: Get domain and hosting for your website

The next step is to go to a domains company like GoDaddy to buy a domain name (or you could start off with a free website like BlogSpot or a Social Media site like Squidoo (but note: many free websites have shoddy hosting!). Hosting is basically the people who give you tech help if something goes wrong and host your domain on their server. You need to get a good company to host your site, because not all hosting companies are good, or reply to your Help requests in a timely manner. I recommend Hostgator (and you can click on the image to find out how to sign up) ,also recommended by the YOTA forum; and also there’s Mochahost, who are also very good.

When you select your DOMAIN NAME it is highly advisable that you put your keyword phrase in to the URL. If you are a bit hazy on what a “url” is, or don’t know what I mean, fear not. I will write further posts on this and in the meantime you may re-read the post I gave a link for here

Step 5: do Search Engine Optimization on your website (get trained first)

Lastly you need to employ search engine optimization to get traffic. If you’re totally new to all this I would definitely join the “Year of the Affiliate” forum (click on the image below) so that experts can guide you until you can walk by yourself. Believe me, you will need the help if you are a newbie like me!

Importance of Ethics in Internet marketing & Direct Sales companies

Finding an Ethical Direct Sales company to work for

Hand-light by Salvatore Vuono

Ethics in your Internet or Direct sales business (pic by S.Vuono)

There are squillions of internet work from home companies and Direct sales companies out there and to find one that delivers on its promises, with leaders who are people of integrity and who follow through on their initial advert that got you signed up with them in the first place, is no mean feat.

I have been fortunate that in the last couple of years I have worked for a certain direct sales company that had just such leaders.  They did not have the best administration (only two support staff), and I never got a weekly pep talk that some salesmen (and sales managers) seem to regard as vital in order for their business to function:on the contrary, I had to motivate myself and find my own prospects (no lead base!) in my job that involved selling by commission only.  The reason-I live on the South Island of New Zealand-they on the North, hundreds of miles away, so communication had to be mainly by phone.  But they looked after me, paid on time, gave us generous vacation rewards and bought a company vehicle for us with paid business fuel allowance just as the economy started tipping into recession.  What they agreed to in terms of salary and commission-they honored.  If I had hassles with customers or a certain government department that was an interface with our customers, they intervened on my behalf , and would always take my side without doubts or belittling cross-examinations.  A rare attitude in managers!

Lack of honor and ethics in Direct Sales and other businesses

My salesman friend, who also has been working in a direct sales company-in the field of life insurance- did not have such a happy story.  He got paid more than me admittedly, but there was a difference.  He would never be in a position where he could trust he was receiving 100% of his earnings.  Why?  One simple reason-his boss in the branch office was busy siphoning off my friend (whom we shall call Bob)’s commissions.  Bob is very good with numbers and was able to discern where the missing commissions were going to.  He would have qualified for an overseas convention with this particular company had not the manager secretly used the points Bob had acquired towards its qualification for the manager’s wife to go instead!  Unfortunately this was not the first experience Bob had had with an unethical business manager.  Rather than complain, he will be moving on to another position and that company will lose an outstanding sales person.  Apparently he will be the seventh salesman to resign!

In contrast, in the Direct Sales company I work for, there is honour and mutual respect between my managers and myself (who are incidentally Christians) I was able to recently talk to them openly of my plans to change direction in my career, which would mean leaving their company.  The managers-whom I count as friends-were obviously upset to be losing me as I generated substantial sales for them, but I think they appreciated the fact that I was honest enough to make them aware of my plans, giving them time to plan for a replacement in this New Year.  Such transparency and open communication would have been impossible if there did not exist three things:

1) mutual trust

2) responsible leadership from them and equally responsible service from me

3) an ethical basis to the company proceeding from an ethical lifestyle and morals demonstrated by the leaders and staff.

Today companies and businesses lack honour.  My friend in America who is in sales told me that even after giving years of service in a senior Sales position he could still be given notice to quit within a few short weeks, should the powers that be decree it.  Equally, he could leave, giving very little notice.  Easy come, easy go.  Within my own field of sales I have run into unethical agents who regularly lie to customers whom they cold-call, and who have even gone in to one of our customer’s homes and removed some of our devices that we sell, on a pretext, in order that they could replace it with theirs!  At this stage in our industry we do not have an official Ombudsman-but that will come!

In most companies, direct sales or otherwise, you would be very lucky to ever get an invitation to stay in the manager’s house.  Every annual conference we have had, my wife and I have been accommodated in our bosses’ home.  The most recent visit was in their new luxury waterfront home.  It did not surprise me to learn that they had got the property “miraculously” when their offer to purchase-which had been the lowest presented-was the one accepted in a local foreclosed (“mortgagee” sale).  God honors ethical (and generous people).

Finding an Ethical Internet Marketing Affiliate Program

The same with internet marketing.  I was fortunate to get an invitation to join an Internet marketing affiliate program from somebody who ‘knows his onions” and one of whose main platforms for launching his internet program was to make it more affordable to newbies:Aussie internet marketer, Sean Rasmussen.  I knew very little about I.M, but I knew I needed to supplement my income and I saw the potential of the internet (see my earlier post)-the problem was-I did not know which program was good .  What he offered (unlike so many affiliate marketing programs) was an 100% money-back guarantee-so there was no real risk to joining. Also it was within my budget-another rarity!

KNOWLEDGE is one of the key ingredients to success in Internet marketing and what you want is an easy-to-follow, systematic, jargon-free program-which Year of the Affiliate is. If you are new to internet marketing the best way to fast track your success is to have a solid internet marketing education through enrollment in an internet marketing affiliate program that can teach you relevant and up to date online marketing strategies. There is a lot to learn! You can put into practice what you have learned on your own site.  In my next post you can learn more.

If you want to get started with your internet marketing education right away-for free,-just click on the image below and start earning and having fun, knowing you are with a good, ethical online company!
